This is a part of the music series...dedicated to those who consider themselves novices or masters of the keyboards. There is a sound that comes from keys that does something to the senses. A fusing of sheet music has become part of my paying homage to all the musicians out there playing from their heart.
16 x 20/Acrylic Mixed Media
This one is special for a different reasons. Being a fellow drummer, I thought it'd be nice to have a likeness of Shreveport's very own Grammy Award winning Brian Blade. I watched Brian and his brother Brady early on play at their father's church when you could barely see them behind the drum set. Needless to say, they've grown up to be premier musicians, and I've loved watching them use their talent.
18 x 24/Acrylic/matching custom-painted frame
This is my tribute to ALL stringed instruments in gray scale. I highlighted the piece with silver metallic ink to accent the strings.

Colors of Sax
Sound of the saxophone is so pleasing to my ears. This is has layers of textures of paint and paper to build upon. I see something new any time I'm up close, but the color mix makes this piece jump. The frame is handpainted using the colors from the painting to make it one cohesive piece.
18 x 24/Acrylic and Paper
I was so excited to do a tribute to musicians who prefer the wind instrument. Saxophones have a "sound" uniquely classified to represent a jazzy flavor like no other. Be it a slow or an upbeat sound, the sax offers up that option. (metallic inks used to highlight the instrument)

Music Series #2 - Guitar
Textures are a mainstay in a lot of the contemporary pieces. I encourage the onlooker to find what ignites their intuition, and not just see them, but to feel the movement brought by the multiple layers.
18 x 24/Acrylic/2018
This is a tribute to “fellow drummers” out there. I love textures, and layers when it adds depth.
18 x 24/Mixed Media/2018
A tribute, in multiple layers, to ALL the keyboardists. This was fun…using bright colors to accentuate the keys.
