“Friction” is an exploration of colors in total contrast to each other. I used the metallic inks to add depth and texture…using the neutral silver to tie them together.

The energy that the color “red” brings can be simple and clean.

Infusion of Purple
This was done with music icon “Prince” in mind…with his music playing in the background as I worked. One of my favorite artists.
36 x 48/Acrylic
Done at a time when I felt somewhat stuck artistically. This one helped me free myself up.

Texture Beyond the Green
For the contemporary enthusiasts...with a eye for green. Layers and layers of textures.

Expression Series (Red Rain)
Embedded in the piece are multiple crosses. You may see something totally different…for the eyes are window to interpretation also.

An Ocean View
Even watching the Weather Channel can be an inspiration. (LOL) I saw movements in the ocean I’d not really focused on before. This pattern stayed in my head until I found a texture (paper towels) to duplicate what I’d just seen.

Expression Series #2
This installment of the EXPRESSION SERIES offers layers upon layers. I ask that you look deep and find the message(s) that is identifiable in a personal way.
16 x 20/Acrylic/2018
On occasion I get into a very "colorful" kind of mindset. The background music adds to the overall "tone" of this piece. Jazz and contemporary christian music were the drivers here. I added a little tan to tone the blue down a little without diluting the other lighter blue. I added a little metallic ink to this one to give it a extra little depth. Textures are hidden, but obvious. The closeup gives you a glimpse of the highlights the metallic inks used adds to it.

White Tower/Black Tower
Somewhat inspired by the division that has separated us all for years, I believe we have a responsibility as human beings to acknowledge, honor, respect and listen to our obvious differences. (internal and external) Though different, the towers represent an individuality that is truly their own.
22 x 30/Acrylic/Watercolor
"Skyline Series" continues with a color scheme for the home or office with filled with hints of orange and blue.
24 x 30/Acrylic
Impressions in Black and White
New color combination full of textures, and layers with a black and white base. Highlighted with metallic for extra pop.
12 x 36/Acrylic
Black and Tan Splash
This piece has layers on top of layers. Ideal for a neutral wall and ready for hanging as an accent at home or a wall at your office. I recall seeing these colors in a clothing store display, and loved the use of the neutral colors. A change of brushes and heavy application kept the paint in full motion with underlying textures throughout.

Skyline View #5
Sometimes I just feel like a new skyline. Making acrylic look watercolors is fun. Metallic ink used to give it a little more depth and that extra “pop”.
